ANNOUNCEMENT

Vacancy-Full-Time Professor

Department of Agronomy, National Chung Hsing University, Taiwan (R.O.C.)

 

I. Position: full-time assistant professor (or above).

II. Qualifications of educational background and experience in the “Crop Science” field:

(I) A doctorate conferred by either a local or overseas university, majoring in Agronomy or Life Science-related fields. Those with practical experience in applying crops in agriculture, biological science, and smart agriculture also have academic papers or research projects demonstrating their results.

(II) Possessing Crop Science knowledge, teaching the major courses about special (industrial or medical) crop science and practice, field culture practice, and their related crop science courses for graduate and undergraduate classes.

(III) Candidates with more than two years of practical experience in crop science-related work, research, teaching, or other relevant fields will be given preference.

(IV) Chosen priority:

1. Acquiring credit certificates relating to the courses about to be conducted. (Please refer to Article VII for more teaching course details.)

2. Prove to the department that you have international communication experience and can teach courses in English.

3. Possessing teaching enthusiasm or potential research ability awards.

4. Use English to discuss the representative publications in the interview.

III. Documents required:

(I) Curriculum vitae (including copies of academic certificates; if the academic credentials are in a foreign language, please translate them into Chinese and have them certified by the foreign affairs office), university transcripts, certificate, and a photocopy of the identity card. Please sign or stamp each photocopy to acknowledge full responsibility for the risk.

(V) Please send two recommendation letters directly from the thesis major advisor and current supervisor to Dr. Chien-Teh Chen, Head of the Department of Agronomy, National Chung Hsing University.

(VI) Preparation for the course syllabus. (Please complete the form in accordance with the National Chung Hsing University Course Syllabus (F3-44) format.)

VIII.A successful hired “Crop Science” professor is required to teach the following related courses:

(I) Crop Science: Special Crop Science and Practice, Crop Science, General Botany, Field Culture Practice, and Advanced Crop Science (for at least two courses).

(II) Required to participate in teaching Farm Practice.

(III) Required to join the EMI-related courses.

Notes:

1. Newly appointed full-time faculty members may be eligible for a flexible salary incentive in addition to their base salary, in accordance with the National Chung Hsing University Regulations Governing Flexible Salary Incentives for Newly Appointed Faculty Members. Those who wish to apply for the “Flexible Salary Incentive for Outstanding Newly Appointed Faculty Members” must submit their application at the time of appointment.

2. Newly appointed full-time faculty members who require accommodation may apply for university faculty housing, subject to availability and applicable university regulations.
