The Chung-Hsing English Learning International Program (ELI), a newly established English-immersion after-school program administered by the Language Center of National Chung Hsing University (NCHU), is now recruiting international English teachers to join our founding teaching team.
ELI is directed by Dr. Cheng-Ji (Paul) Lai, Associate Professor at NCHU, and is built upon over a decade of experience in English immersion and Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL)-based education in Taiwan. The program integrates English language learning with arts, physical education, music, social studies, science, and inquiry-based activities to foster students’ academic English, thinking skills, and global competence.
Position Overview
We are recruiting international instructors to teach elementary-level students (Grades 1–6) in an English-immersion, CLIL-oriented after-school program.

Instruction takes place:
- Weekdays during semesters: 13:30–18:00
- Summer / Winter camps: daytime schedules
Depending on qualifications, experience, and role within the program, selected teachers may be appointed under one of the following tracks:
- Full-time salaried instructor (monthly salary)
- Part-time hourly instructor
- Teaching experience
- Professional qualifications
- Availability and long-term commitment
- Role in curriculum development and team collaboration
Successful candidates will be expected to:
- Teach English-immersion classes
- Design lesson plans and instructional materials
- Collaborate with Taiwanese co-teachers
- Participate in program orientation and recruitment events (March–April)
- Contribute to a professional, team-based teaching environment
- Native English proficiency
- Bachelor’s degree or above (required)
- Teaching certification (TESOL/TEFL/CELTA or equivalent) preferred
- Experience with young learners, immersion programs, or ESL is a plus
- Legal eligibility to work in Taiwan (or willingness to process work permit)
- Be part of the founding team of a university-affiliated international program
- Stable teaching environment with professional autonomy
