NCHU’s Lunar New Year Gathering: Alumni Association Donates an Additional NT$100,000 in Cash Prizes

Welcoming the Lunar New Year, National Chung Hsing University (NCHU) hosted a festive gathering on February 4 at Huisun Hall, where over a thousand faculty members, staff, and retirees came together to celebrate. This year, the event featured 217 raffle prizes, with a nearly 20% winning rate. For the second consecutive year, Alumni Association Chairman Chia-Yu Chuang generously contributed to the raffle, providing ten NT$6,000 cash red envelopes and two robotic vacuum cleaners valued at over NT$10,000 each. Additionally, he announced an extra ten NT$10,000 red envelopes on-site, bringing the total prize count to 22 and creating an exciting atmosphere.
The grand prize lineup included an iPhone 16 Plus, an iPad, a Dyson air purifier, an Apple Watch, accommodation vouchers for Huisun Forest, an air fryer, a coffee machine, a vacuum cleaner, dining vouchers, and gift boxes. To further increase winning chances, 36 senior administrators also contributed gifts or cash prizes worth NT$2,000 or more.
During his speech, NCHU President Fuh-Jyh Jan expressed his commitment to improving both the physical and digital campus infrastructure to attract more outstanding faculty, staff, and students to join the university. He emphasized that the dedication and contributions of all members are crucial to the school's continuous advancement. He also extended special thanks to Chairman Chia-Yu Chuang for his unwavering financial and practical support for university development, as well as his efforts in establishing alumni association chapters across Taiwan. With the collective efforts of the NCHU community, President Jan is confident the university will continue to thrive and become the top-tier institution envisioned by its members.
The celebration began with a guzheng performance and included three award ceremonies. The Jade Award recognized outstanding faculty members: Professor Ching-Ming Lai from the Department of Electrical Engineering, Associate Professor Yi-Chun Chen from the Department of Forestry, and Associate Professor Ying-Chieh Lee from the Program in Landscape and Recreation. Additionally, awards were presented to distinguished student organizations, including the Table Tennis Club, the Hiking and Mountaineering Club, and the Badminton Club.
