NCHU Will Host First Open House and Academic Expo on April 19, Featuring 61 Booths

On April 19, National Chung Hsing University (NCHU) will hold its first-ever Open House Department and Club Expo. A total of 61 booths will be featured, including 41 academic departments and 20 student clubs. The event aims to showcase the university’s academic and research strengths as well as its vibrant extracurricular life.
As part of the event, NCHU has specially designed seven themed Open House tour routes, offering rare access to facilities that usually require reservations. These include the Museum of Natural History at the College of Life Sciences, as well as tours of the College of Liberal Arts, the Departments of Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Plant Pathology, Entomology, and Veterinary Medicine—providing a valuable opportunity for visitors to explore the university in depth.
Three keynote lectures will also be held on the day of the event. Provost Dr. Yu-Fang Chang will introduce NCHU’s admission channels, research achievements, teaching resources, and campus features. Additionally, three outstanding NCHU alumni will share their experiences to help prospective students prepare for college life. Topics include: “Exploring University Life,” “Writing a Compelling Learning Portfolio,” and “Applying to College: Insider Tips.” These talks aim to offer practical guidance to high school students.

Among the seven tour routes, slots for the Museum of Natural History, the Department of Plant Pathology, and the Department of Environmental Engineering are already full. Registration is still open for the Civil Engineering and Entomology tours. The Department of Veterinary Medicine will offer four time slots for guided tours—no registration required; simply gather at the department’s booth 15 minutes before each session.
The Departments of Chinese Literature, Foreign Languages and Literatures, History, and the Taiwanese Literature Program will welcome visitors throughout the day in the lobby of the Humanities Building.
