National Chung Hsing University (NCHU) and Show Chwan Healthcare System signed a teaching and research collaboration agreement on September 11. The agreement was signed by NCHU President Fuh-Jyh Jan and Show Chwan President Min-Ho Huang. Under this five-year partnership, Show Chwan Healthcare System will donate NT$2 million annually to NCHU, totaling NT$10 million over five years, to support the College of Medicine in advancing international exchange and talent recruitment, as well as academic research and medical education.

President Fuh-Jyh Jan emphasized that NCHU has been actively developing research in medicine and life sciences, and expressed gratitude for Show Chwan’s strong support since the early days of NCHU’s department of post-baccalaureate medicine. He noted that the NT$10 million donation will further strengthen the College of Medicine’s initiatives in international collaboration and academic exchange. Building global engagement is a key priority for the university, and through this partnership with Show Chwan Healthcare System, NCHU hopes to expand research capacity while also providing students with more opportunities for clinical training and research.

In his remarks, President Min-Ho Huang stated that medicine and academia complement each other, and that Show Chwan has long been committed to medical innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration. Looking ahead, the partnership will encompass cooperation in areas such as New Southbound medical diplomacy, the National Health Medical Team, AI-powered smart healthcare, and the application of minimally invasive surgical techniques to veterinary medicine. Huang expressed his hope that the collaboration will generate more cross-disciplinary and cultivate medical and veterinary professionals with strong international competitiveness.

The signing of this agreement marks a new chapter in joint efforts between universities and healthcare institutions to advance health sciences research. Both parties will continue to deepen their collaboration, driving the development of medical research and the cultivation of outstanding talent.
