On November 1, 2025, the Office of International Affairs (OIA) at National Chung Hsing University (NCHU) held a grand celebration for the university’s 106th anniversary, featuring two signature international events — the “Global Talent” Cultural Performance and the International Student Parade.

This vibrant, multicultural carnival embodied NCHU’s commitment to internationalization and its success in fostering a friendly, inclusive, and diverse campus environment. The celebration added a joyful and globally inspired highlight to the anniversary festivities.

The day began with a spectacular International Student Parade, where 124 international students from more than 17 countries proudly represented their homelands. Dressed in traditional attire and waving national flags, the students formed six colorful groups that enthusiastically marched across the campus, spreading festive cheer and celebrating NCHU’s birthday. Their lively procession drew the attention of faculty, students, and local visitors alike — a vivid display of the university’s international diversity.

Following the parade, the “Global Talent” Cultural Performance took center stage. President Fuh-Jyh Jan attended the opening ceremony and joined the performers for a group photo, while Vice President and OIA Director Chi-Chung Chou delivered opening remarks.

He noted that this event not only united students from around the world to celebrate NCHU’s anniversary but also provided international students with a confident platform to share their culture and talents. At the same time, it allowed local students and faculty to become bridges of intercultural exchange, broadening their global perspectives and communication skills — fulfilling the goal of “deep exchange and mutual growth” between local and international students.

The exciting program was co-hosted by students from Sierra Leone and Vietnam, with the support of 24 volunteers — including 16 Taiwanese students — who worked hand in hand to make the event possible.

A total of 72 students from seven countries — including Vietnam, Thailand, Myanmar, Indonesia, India, Chile, and Taiwan — delivered over ten captivating performances blending tradition and modern creativity. From energetic folk dances to heartfelt international songs, each performance was a sincere cultural exchange and a celebration of vitality, embodying the event’s spirit of “Joyful Harmony through Cultural Connection.”

The event drew an enthusiastic audience of over 350 faculty members and students from 14 countries, who offered warm applause and support for the performers.

NCHU has long been dedicated to cultivating a friendly, internationally competitive learning environment. Through vibrant cultural exchange events such as “Global Talent,” the university continues to demonstrate its openness and inclusiveness as a leading academic institution.

These initiatives have greatly enhanced NCHU’s global visibility and reputation, laying a solid foundation for attracting outstanding international students and strengthening international academic collaborations in the future.
NCHU will continue its efforts to make the campus a dynamic, welcoming, and truly global platform for intercultural exchange.
