Professor Lee, Tzong-Ru of the Department of Marketing at National Chung Hsing University has been invited to serve as a Scientific Committee Member for the 12th Smart Cities Symposium Prague (SCSP 2026). Through his participation on the committee, Professor Lee aims to strengthen the development platform linking Asia and Europe in smart city research, while promoting cross-border exchange and integration in areas such as smart cities, sustainable transportation, and AI applications.
This year’s SCSP 2026 gathers leading academic and industry experts from around the world to explore future urban development strategies centered on “Cooperative Cities” and “Climate-Neutral Cities.” The symposium is organized by the Faculty of Transportation Sciences at the Czech Technical University (CTU), an institution known for its long-term commitment to sustainable mobility, smart city research, and climate neutrality. CTU has cultivated extensive interdisciplinary integration in both research and education. Key partners of the symposium include the European Platform of Transport Sciences, the University of Texas at El Paso, and the Czech Institute of Informatics, Robotics and Cybernetics.
Since its inception in 2015, SCSP has been held annually in Prague and has grown into a major international and interdisciplinary forum for smart city research.
• The 2022 (8th) symposium focused on post-pandemic urban behavior and sustainable mobility, attracting participants from 11 countries, with around 140 papers and more than 140 attendees.
• The 2023 (9th) symposium drew over 220 participants from 15 countries, featuring influential speakers from both academia and industry who shared practical insights and future visions.
• The 2025 (11th) symposium highlighted the transition toward “Cooperative Cities” and “Climate-Neutral Cities,” maintaining scholarly discussion while emphasizing practical applications.
Over the years, SCSP has become a global platform where scholars, urban decision-makers, and industry leaders exchange ideas. It not only fosters international collaboration but also bridges theoretical research and real-world urban practice, driving the sustainable advancement of smart cities.
For SCSP 2026, the organizers extend a warm invitation to representatives from academia, government, industry, and urban management to submit papers and participate in shaping intelligent, sustainable, and harmonious future cities. Professor Lee, Tzong-Ru’s participation showcases Taiwan’s expertise in smart city development and enhances the visibility of Taiwanese cities in Europe and the United States. His involvement not only reflects Taiwan’s global perspective on smart cities but also contributes to raising international awareness of Taiwan’s urban innovation.
The organizers have officially opened the call for global submissions and welcome researchers, government representatives, and industry professionals interested in smart cities, urban data science, AI applications, and sustainable transportation to join in advancing the next generation of intelligent and sustainable urban development.
