National Chung Hsing University (NCHU) has once again achieved remarkable success in the field of sustainability. The 2025 Global Corporate Sustainability Forum and Joint Awards Ceremony was held on the afternoon of November 26 at the Grand Hotel Taipei. Standing out among numerous participating institutions, NCHU earned two prestigious accolades—the Outstanding University in Sustainability Award and the Gold Award for University Sustainability Reporting—in recognition of its robust governance framework and transparent information disclosure. Chief Secretary Chang-Yen Lee attended the ceremony on behalf of the university to receive the awards.

Chief Secretary Lee noted that sustainability has always been a core value in NCHU’s institutional development. Through the collective efforts of faculty, staff, and students, the university has integrated green and sustainable principles into teaching, research, campus life, and community engagement.

NCHU officially published its 2024 Sustainability Report in August 2025. The report was prepared in accordance with GRI Standards and underwent rigorous third-party verification. To highlight NCHU’s evolving governance strategies, this year’s report features three newly added thematic chapters:
1. Highlights of Presidential Leadership and Achievements:
Demonstrating concrete progress and long-term vision of the university leadership in advancing institutional transformation and sustainability strategies.
2. Diverse Support Systems:
Detailing how NCHU builds an inclusive and supportive campus environment that fosters the diverse development of faculty, staff, and students, embodying the principles of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).
3. Campus Ecology and Biodiversity Conservation:
Showcasing NCHU’s longstanding reputation as an “organic ecological campus,” this chapter provides in-depth coverage of ecological conservation initiatives and biodiversity outcomes, underscoring the ecological value of the university as an urban green lung.

Committed to transparent communication with its stakeholders, NCHU has made the full electronic version of the 2024 Sustainability Report publicly available on its official website. Looking ahead, the university will continue to fulfill its social responsibilities, leverage academic expertise, and work collaboratively with all sectors of society to advance toward a net-zero and sustainable future.
