Full-time Faculty Position (Assistant Professor or Above)

The Department of Horticulture at National Chung Hsing University invites applications for one full-time faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor or above.
I. Qualifications:
Education: A Ph.D. in horticulture or a closely related field from an accredited university (in Taiwan or abroad).
Eligibility: Applicants must meet the faculty appointment standards and related regulations established by the Department of Horticulture, College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, and the Faculty Evaluation Committee of the University.
II. Areas of Specialization and Expectations:
Applicants should demonstrate expertise in horticulture in one of the following areas:
(1) Vegetable crop physiology and cultivation, and/or genetics and breeding; or
(2) Fruit crop physiology and cultivation, and/or plant nutrition; or
(3) Postharvest handling and physiology of floricultural/ornamental crops.
Experience and/or research related to sustainability, circular economy, carbon reduction, and practical applications is preferred.
Teaching and service expectations: The successful candidate is expected to teach horticulture-related courses aligned with the department’s curriculum plan and, each academic year, offer at least one English-taught undergraduate course and one English-taught graduate course. The candidate should also support department/college international exchange and related services. Applicants should demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching, teamwork, and research potential. For international applicants, the ability to teach in Mandarin Chinese is required and a presentation in Mandarin will be required during the interview.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an on-campus interview and job talk. The job talk should be delivered in English; international candidates are required to deliver the talk in Mandarin Chinese.

1. Newly recruited faculty may be eligible for additional salary incentives under NCHU’s flexible salary program for newly recruited faculty. Applications for “Outstanding Newly Recruited Faculty” incentives must be submitted at the time of application.
