The “Xian-Guang Art Exhibition” and “All-Out National Defense Education Community Outreach” hosted by the Military Police Command, will grandly take place at National Chung Hsing University on June 18, 2026. Among these events, the “Xian-Guang Art Exhibition” will be held at the Art Center of NCHU until July 10. Through diverse forms of artistic creation, the exhibition presents the spiritual strength of the military and civilians working together to protect their homeland. With its unique military-themed artworks, it sincerely welcomes the public to attend and take part in this meaningful exhibition. In addition, the “All-Out National Defense Education Community Outreach” will also be held on June 18 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the square in front of the Library of NCHU. The event will feature exciting opening performances, national defense equipment displays, and interactive club experience booths. Through these activities, the event aims to enhance public understanding of and support for national defense affairs.
To promote public understanding of modern national defense arts and culture, the Ministry of National Defense has been pressing ahead with the military literary and artistic movement, as well as cultural exchanges between the military and civilians, through “Armed Forces Golden Statue Awards for Literature and Art” for many years. Now in its 59th iteration, this enduring tradition calls for submissions across three major themes: "Rest Assured, I Am Here," "Unified Hearts of the Military and Civilians: Safeguarding the Republic of China," "Anti-Aggression, Protecting the Homeland." The competition invites submissions from three divisions of Military, Public, and International. The artworks awarded are truly exceptional, selected from thousands of contestants. These works transform profound concepts into deeply moving visual arts. Featured works portray scenes of military-civilian cooperation in disaster relief and community rebuilding, firsthand perspectives of the Armed Forces steadfastly defending against the incursions of aircraft and vessels by the Chinese Communist Party, troops undergoing tough training, and expressions of the deep emotions and resilience of soldiers. Notably, the International Division takes the milestone of the 80th anniversary of victory in World War II as an opportunity to remind the public of the importance of upholding freedom, democratic values, and the global order, while standing together with Taiwan and safeguarding the Republic of China.
The Military Police Command’s “Xian-Guang Art Exhibition” showcases 60 awarded artworks of the fine arts category—including Chinese ink painting, calligraphy, Western painting, comics, and photography— from "The 59th Armed Forces Golden Statue Awards for Literature and Art," presenting a magnificent display of artistic excellence. Taking the opening ceremony as an opportunity to embody a refined cultural paradigm, the event has invited four renowned Taiwanese calligraphers and painters, Lee Ku-mo, Tsai You, Chen Chin-chung, and Lin Rong-sen to demonstrate their artistry on-site.
Meanwhile, the “All-Out National Defense Education Community Outreach” collaborates with the Army, Navy, Air Force, and other units, presenting various military-themed interactive booths. These include criminal forensics, combat casualty care and triage, a drone soccer challenge, and more. A variety of military hardware is also on display, accompanied by professional guides to allow the public to engage with and understand national defense at a closer distance, and there is a series of spectacular opening performances, including tactical demonstrations by the Military Police Special Service Company, a heavy motorcycle formation parade, competitive cheerleading, high school honor guards, and a drone vehicle formation parade. These performances greatly enhance the event's appeal, making it an experience well worth attending for everyone.
Each year, the award-winning works of the “Armed Forces Golden Statue Awards for Literature and Art” record a chapter of military history and witness the continuation of its spirit and culture. Through these works, people can feel the unity and strength of the military, while the soft power of military arts and culture also helps bring the military and civilians closer through aesthetics. At the same time, the “All-Out National Defense Education Community Outreach” extends national defense education from military camps into local neighborhoods. Together, they fully showcase the local characteristics of national defense and complement one another. We sincerely invite everyone to join us.
