The Art Center of National Chung Hsing University (NCHU) will host "The 14th Joint Art Exhibition by National Chung Hsing University Faculty, Staff, and Dependents" from September 10 to October 2, 2026. Initially spearheaded by art-loving members of faculty and staff , this long-running exhibition has evolved into a signature aesthetic event exclusively dedicated to fostering creative exchange and promoting the arts within the NCHU community. Held by the Art Center every three to four years, this enduring tradition showcases NCHU's unique and rich cultural heritage. By curating this joint exhibition regularly, the university hopes to inspire colleagues to pursue artistic creation during their leisure time, cultivate their character, and integrate aesthetic appreciation into daily life. Over time, it is believed that faculty and staff will discover their own cross-disciplinary talent beyond their professional fields.
Past iterations of the exhibition have consistently received enthusiastic responses, reflecting the vibrant creative spirit and passion for art shared across the NCHU family. This year brings together over 200 artworks by more than 77 participants, including faculty, staff, retired colleagues, and their dependents from various colleges, departments, and administrative units. The exhibition showcases an impressive and diverse array of mediums and formats, encompassing calligraphy, seal carving, ink painting, Western painting, printmaking, photography, ceramics, lacquer painting, porcelain painting, handicrafts, and digital creations. The participants span a wide age group—from school-aged children, teenagers, and university students to seniors in their 80s—each presenting distinct styles and charm. Notably, the exhibition features joint submissions from families, including parents and children, siblings, and couples. This highlights how staff members cultivate shared family interests to balance work and wellness amid busy schedules, while also actively supporting campus exhibitions. Their participation embodies the philosophy that "art is life," offering the public a glimpse into NCHU's abundant creative energy and the pure joy of making art. All are cordially invited to attend and enjoy the exhibition.
