NCHU held the beam-raising ceremony for the new food and agriculture safety inspection center donated by the Sinopac Bank

The beam-raising ceremony for the new food and agriculture safety inspection center at the National Chung Hsing Unversity was held on February 12, 2018. The building was donated to the university by Sinopac Bank and the ceremony is a symbolic act to show that the basic structure had been completed. The ceremony was co-hosted by its Chairman, Chen Chia-hsien(陳嘉賢) and the President of National Chung Hsing University, Shieu Fuh-Sheng(薛富盛). The project started in December, 2016 and with joint efforts by the bank, the university and the construction team, it is expected that the opening ceremony of food and agriculture safety inspection center will take place at the end of 2018.

Establishing agriculture food safety inspection center contributes to enhancing food safety
Chairman Chen Chia-hsien(陳嘉賢) said that through donating the physical building and in collaborating with National Chung Hsing University’s pioneer agriculture biotech experts, the creation of the food and agriculture safety inspection center aims to strengthen certification process and hence contribute to enhancing the development of the agriculture sector and food safety in Taiwan.

Promoting industry-academic cooperation to foster SME development
Besides the food safety inspection cooperation, Sinopac Bank has in fact established a branch office in the university campus in 2014. The branch office has not only efficiently provided banking services to all the faculty and students, workshops on sharing of business management experience and financial case studies were also held from time to time. It is expected that when the food and agriculture safety inspection building is officially launched, Sinopac Bank and National Chung Hsing University would continue their cooperation in creating the Small and Medium Enterprise Incubator Center.
