Executive Director of the Foundation for Scholarly Exchange (Fulbright Taiwan) Visits NCHU to Strengthen Collaboration between Taiwan and the USA

At the beginning of Fall 2020, Dr. Randall Nadeau, the new Executive Director of
the Foundation for Scholarly Exchange (Fulbright Taiwan) paid a visit to the university to further develop cooperation with National Chung Hsing University (NCHU). In order to establish a cooperative platform, Professor Fuh-Sheng Shieu, President of NCHU, Professor Chia-Lin Chang, Vice-President for International Affairs, and Professor Jian-Fu Lin, the new President of the Taiwan Fulbright Alumni Association, led teachers of the university to meet with the Director, including Professor Clyde A. Warden, Director of the Division of Information Technology and Innovation, and Professor Jane Lu, Head Supervisor of the Taiwan Fulbright Alumni Association.
The Executive Director made a special effort to publicize and promote the 2020-2021 Fulbright Scholarship application information, which includes the FLTA program (Foreign Language Teaching Assistant) and Fulbright Scholarship especially for Doctoral Studies. President Shieu has informed the Language Center, the Department of Chinese Literature, and the Department of Foreign Languages and Literature of the announcement, which is a promises to encourage NCHU students from the aforementioned departments to apply for the FLTA program. As the deadline for this year’s Fulbright Scholarship application has already passed, Dr. Nadeau reminded the students who plan to pursue doctoral degrees in the USA to start preparing for next year’s scholarship application to apply successfully for the class in Fall 2022.
In order to facilitate educational exchange opportunities between the faculty and students of NCHU and the Foundation for Scholarly Exchange (Fulbright Taiwan), NCHU plans to hold regular Fulbright scholarship information sessions and schedule meetings with American scholars and students in the near future.
