"Central Taiwan Smart Machinery and Manufacturing Alliance" Was Established to Build a Smart Machinery City

The "Central Taiwan Smart Machinery and Manufacturing Alliance" was formally established on November 16. National Chung Hsing University, Taiwan Machine Tool and Accessory Builders’ Association, Taiwan Automation Intelligence and Robotics Association, and Precision Machinery Research Development Center jointly signed a memorandum of cooperation, which will bring together the huge R&D energy of the industry, government, education and research, and drive Central Taiwan to become the city of the smart machinery.

The goal of the alliance is to build an all-round collaborative innovation platform with the functions of the research, testing, training, and exhibition. For the process equipment, smart manufacturing technology and industrial talents needed for the development of the precision machinery industry, aerospace industry, smart robot industry, semiconductor industry, electric vehicle and self-driving car industry, biomedical technology industry in the Greater Taichung Area, the alliance carries out the customized and cross-domain integration of the industry-university cooperative research and development, smart application demonstration, innovative technology verification and cultivation of the industry 4.0 cross-field talents.

The key points promoted by the alliance include the five items of the talent cultivation, practice competition, talent matching, industry-university cooperation, and communication platform. The specific methods are to train professionals in the field of the smart machinery and smart manufacturing, jointly organize the innovative application practice competitions with the industry, comprehensively serve the student employment and corporate employment needs, such as holding the employment matchmaking meetings, seeking the companies to provide the internship opportunities, and handling the summer vacations study camp. Moreover, the specific methods are also to handle the publication and display of industry-academy results, build a bridge between the industry and academia, and accept the consultation and services commissioned by the government and the private sector for the development of the smart machinery and manufacturing industries.
