On January 21, Mr. Nguyen Anh Dung, Director of Vietnam Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei, Mr. Vo Hong Manh Ph.D, Chief of Science and Technology Division, and Assistant to the Director. Science &Technology Division, Mr. Nguyen Manh Thao visited Dr. Fuh-Sheng Shieu, the President of National Chung Hsing University to discuss the continual collaboration of Taiwan and Vietnam after the signing of cooperation agreement. The distinguished participants from NCHU also include Dr. Jenn-Wen Huang, Vice President of National Chung Hsing University, Distinguished Professor Dr. Chia-Lin Chang, Vice President for International Affairs, Academician of Academia Sinica Dr. Shyi-Dong Yeh, National Chair Professor of Department of Plant Pathology, and Chief Executive Officer of NCHU Agriculture Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation (ASTIC) Professor Dr. Woo-Nang Chang, Professor of Department of Horticulture. In 2017, NCHU ASTIC signed an academic exchange and cooperation agreement with the Vietnam Academy of Agricultural Sciences (VAAS) to export National Chung Hsing University's talents and scientific technologies in the agricultural and biotechnology industry to Vietnam to assist Vietnam in promoting modern agricultural biotechnology. This strategy aims at strengthening scientific research and talent cultivation on both sides and setting a marketing template for Taiwan to promote and enlarge international market expansion.

The meeting not only shared the results of the cooperation project between NCHU and the VAAS, but also discussed the difficulties that need to be overcome when NCHU cooperates with local manufacturers in Vietnam, in the fervent hope of strengthening the bilateral cooperation relationship in the future. Representative Mr. Nguyen Anh Dung also took this rare opportunity to meet with Vietnamese students studying in NCHU to realize the problems or obstacles encountered by foreign students in Taiwan due to the COVID-19 epidemic.
