The Office of International Affairs is pleased to announce the publication of the sixth issue of "NCHU ARCH" in July 2023. Over a period of nearly three years, the Office has successfully published six issues of "NCHU ARCH", reflecting National Chung Hsing University's unwavering commitment to academic sustainability, global visibility and deepening international exchanges. The publication focuses on four main themes: "Ascension", "Research", "Collaboration" and "Horticulture".
"NCHU ARCH has been designed with the aim of introducing the exceptional quality, values and aesthetics of the National Chung Hsing University to a global audience. In line with the University's mission to promote international educational goals, it serves as a dynamic platform to showcase academic creativity. The publication underscores NCHU's commitment to fostering global connections and promoting its academic achievements on the international stage.
In the Ascension section of this issue, we highlight the establishment of Nantou's NCHU branch, which aims to integrate the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with local revitalization for shared prosperity.
The Research section introduces Professor Chiu-Chung Young, an Academician of Academia Sinica, who has dedicated his life to the research and development of microbial fertilizers and has made a significant contribution to the development of sustainable agriculture in Taiwan.
In the "Collaboration" section, we present the ENABLE (ENgineering in Agriculture and Biotech LEadership) Centre, led by Yushan Fellow Professor Charles W. Tu. The Centre focuses on fostering interdisciplinary research teams with high potential through Professor Tu's esteemed international reputation, thus promoting international collaboration and exchange.
The Horticulture section tells the inspiring story of Aditya Gautama, an Indonesian student at NCHU, who overcame language barriers and excelled in horticulture with the support of university resources.
Finally, we present the exhibition at the NCHU Art Gallery, which features the special photography exhibition "Mother School: Seeking Art Throughout Life" special photo exhibition by alumnus Mr. Chuang Ling, which offers a glimpse of the university's past glory and social impact.
We are particularly grateful to the invited guests who have contributed to the "ARCH" sections, bringing new vitality to the publication. We are also grateful to the generous authors who gave us permission to use their captivating photographs, thus enhancing the quality and vibrancy of "NCHU ARCH". On behalf of the Office of International Affairs, we extend our sincere best wishes. We thank all of you for your continued support of the internationalisation efforts of the University.
