National Chung Hsing University (NCHU) held its graduation ceremony on June 1st, celebrating a total of 3,500 graduates. Among them were 71 master's graduates from the Academy of Circular Economy. This academy, established two years ago with support from the “National Key Fields Industry-University Cooperation and Skilled Personnel Training” program, is the only one of its kind in Asia. This milestone brings new vitality to the industry, equipped with expertise in circular economy.
Vice President Bi-khim Hsiao recorded a special video message to congratulate the graduates. Palauan Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, David Adam Orrukem, Chairman of the Circular Taiwan Network Fund Charles Huang, and Chairman of the NCHU Alumni Association Chia-Yu Chung also attended the event to extend their congratulations.
NCHU founded the Academy of Circular Economy in 2022 to collaborate with industries in recruiting master's and doctoral students, aiming to cultivate high-tech talents in sustainable corporate management and circular economy. The first cohort of 71 graduates includes employees from various companies such as Just CH Biotech R&D Co., Taii Agricultural Co., Taiwan Color Optics, Inc., IV Technologies Co., Zhangbin Show Chwan Memorial Hospital, Fubon Life, and SPIL.
In his speech, NCHU President Fuh-Jyh Jan encouraged the graduates to uphold the NCHU spirit of sincerity and simplicity. He urged them to fuel their ambitions and enthusiasm as newcomers to society, and to demonstrate the resilience of the diverse Taiwanese people. He sincerely hopes that graduates will bravely face challenges, embody the spirit of "If not me, then who?" and combine the school's values with reflective thinking to shine in every stage of life and fulfill their self-expectations.
Vice President Bi-khim Hsiao conveyed her blessings to the graduates via video, saying, "In the journey of life, no matter what choices you make, the most important thing is to color this world in your own way and pass on your warmth to those in need. Never forget the sincerity and original intentions you had in school, and remain honest and kind."
Charles Huang, Chairman of the Circular Taiwan Network Fund , shared with the graduates, "If you have any resources, whether it's capability, awareness, or rationality, then you have a moral responsibility to defend those who are disadvantaged." He also encouraged students to have an exciting life by daring to step out of their comfort zones, as "true change only happens outside of the comfort zone, never within it!"
