The National Chung Hsing University (NCHU) EMBA Alumni Association has responded to President Fuh-Jyh Jan's initiative for a "Friendly Environment and Well-being Campus" by funding the repaving of Chung Hsing West Road. This is the second road donated by the alumni, following last year’s renovation of the Ye Lin Road.
Led by Tze-Huei Lin, Chairman of the NCHU EMBA Alumni Association, the initiative successfully raised donations from 18 alumni in just one week, accumulating millions of New Taiwan dollars. The repaving work was carried out by a professional team led by Chairman Chin-Hung Kuo of the Yong Li Group, who also oversaw the construction of Ye Lin Road last year. The road underwent resurfacing on October 5, repaving on October 6, and marking on October 10, earning widespread praise from faculty, students, and the public for its smoothness and functionality.
Chairman Tze-Huei Lin stated that the EMBA Alumni Association strongly supports President Jan's vision of a "Friendly Environment and Well-being Campus" Upon learning about the university's road improvement plan, Lin immediately convened the association's board members and alumni to discuss ways to give back to their alma mater. He expressed deep gratitude for the enthusiastic response from alumni. In addition to enhancing road safety, the new pavement demonstrates the university's commitment to social responsibility, providing a beautiful and comfortable environment for everyone. Lin also hopes that this initiative will inspire more alumni to contribute to the school's development, making NCHU an even better place.
Vice Chairman Mu-Jung Yang mentioned that the fundraising campaign was structured in units of NT$300,000, with 13 alumni contributing within a week. The remaining amount was jointly covered by Chin-Hung Kuo, Tze-Huei Lin, Chi-Chang Tsai, and Mu-Jung Yang, showing how the EMBA Alumni Association gives back to the university through tangible donations.
Chairman Chin-Hung Kuo of the Yong Li Group emphasized that safety, durability, and aesthetics are the core principles of his construction work. For this project, environmentally friendly recycled materials were used, meeting highway-grade standards for durability and safety. The improved surface will make driving smoother and running more comfortable.
President Fuh-Jyh Jan expressed his gratitude, noting that most of the campus roads had not been renovated for over a decade. Additionally, recent construction of the university's sewage and utility systems had left the roads uneven. Upon taking office in August last year, President Jan immediately launched a road improvement initiative. Thanks to the alumni's generous support, the first donated road, Ye Lin Road, was completed before last year’s university anniversary, and the second road, Chung Hsing West Road, has now been finished just ahead of this year’s celebrations.
