Just before the 105th anniversary, National Chung Hsing University (NCHU) has completed the repaving of 50% of its campus roads, covering 12 sections and totaling 25,000 square meters. Among these, Da Xue South 1st Road and Entrance W1 road section were funded by the NCHU Top Elite School Class 2, while Chung Hsing West Road was sponsored by the NCHU EMBA Alumni Association. To express gratitude for the alumni's contributions to the road improvement project, two inauguration ceremonies were held on November 2, inviting alumni donors to celebrate the unveiling of the new roads.
Most of NCHU’s campus roads had not been repaved for over a decade, and construction of the university’s sewage and shared utility infrastructure in recent years had caused additional unevenness. Since taking office in August of last year, President Fuh-Jyh Jan has made it a priority to advance campus road improvements.
President Jan expressed heartfelt thanks to alumni for supporting the university’s “Friendly Environment and Well-being Campus” initiative. He noted that last year, during the anniversary period, Chairman Chin-hung Kuo of the Yong Li Group set a new precedent by funding the repaving of Ye Lin Road,. This year, President of the NCHU EMBA Alumni Association, Tze-huei Lin, and the Chief Operating Officer of the International College of Innovation and Industry Liaison, Yi-hua Wang, rallied support from 23 alumni who enthusiastically responded to this cause. Alongside alumni donations, the university also secured funding of NT$9.75 million from the Ministry of Education. Half of the campus roads have now been repaved, and additional fundraising is underway to complete all primary campus roads within two years.
Da Xue South 1st Road and Entrance W1 road section were funded through donations from alumni including Yi-hua Wang, the Chief Operating Officer of the International College of Innovation and Industry Liaison; Wen-chieh Cheng, Chairman of Yuanhe Development Co., Ltd.; Chin-ho Chen, General Manager of LONG Automatic Machinery Co., Ltd.; Tien-szu Lin, Chairman of YueXin Recycle Ltd.; and Cheng-chang Teng, Chairman of Yung Hsiang Construction Co., Ltd.,. Each contributed NT$1 million, totaling NT$5 million to support the road paving.
Director Yi-hua Wang shared that she is always willing to help with projects that support the university’s development, whether through fundraising or direct donations. She encouraged fellow alumni to join in because, as her emphasized, “We are all part of the NCHU family, and together, we can accomplish what’s important to us all.”
Tze-Huei Lin, Chairman of the NCHU EMBA Alumni Association and key coordinator of the Chung Hsing West Road donation, remarked that the new road improvements enhance safety and also reflect the university's commitment to social responsibility, providing a more beautiful and comfortable environment. He hopes these efforts will inspire more alumni to contribute to the university’s development, helping NCHU thrive even more.
