On October 22, 2024, Dr. Ann Evans, Pro Vice-Chancellor for Graduate Research at the Australian National University, accompanied by representatives from the Ministry of Education, visited National Chung Hsing University (NCHU). During the meeting, both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on potential future collaboration models. Additionally, the Australian National University held the only Australian National University-Taiwan Scholarship Information Session in Taiwan at NCHU, marking a new chapter in academic exchanges between Taiwan and Australia and in the joint cultivation of students.

Dr. Ann Evans was received by Vice President Chao-Chin Chang, and the meeting was joined by Director of Advanced Research Center for Humanities and Social Sciences Dr. Tung-Chieh Tsai, Dean of College of Life Science Dr. Chieh-Chen Huang, Vice Dean of College of Agriculture and Natural Resources Dr. Shaw-Yhi Hwang, Associate Vice President for International Affairs, Dr. Kai-Jung Chi, Director for Academic Exchange Division at Office of International Affairs Dr. Edith Su, Academic Secretary of the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources Dr. Hsin-I Chiang, and Professor Dr. Yin-Tsung Hwang from the Department of Electrical Engineering.
Vice President Chang emphasized that NCHU is actively expanding its international presence. In recent years, the university has deepened its partnership with Australian universities through various collaborative programs. Students also have multiple channels to participate in exchange programs with Australian institutions. Taiwan-Australia academic interactions have been both close and frequent, and it is believed that should there be any opportunities to establish bilateral cooperation with ANU in the future, it would further attract outstanding students to study at both universities.
